Meet The Team - Iuliia Grinkiv

If you’ve kept up with our socials or this site, you know by now that BUON ITALIAN FASHION is run by our “femme phénomenale” Iuliia Grinkiv, with a little bit of help from her daughter, Valeria Wiwinius, and her social media guru, Lisa Tsumakova.

But who are the people behind those names? Well, we’re glad you asked.

Hopefully, you’ll know a bit more about our BIFluencers after this series of short and sweet Q&A’s, starting off with our founder.

What are you responsible for at BIF?

Pretty much everything from buying the collections over selling to maintaining the shop and assisting clients.

What does ‘Fashion’ mean to you?

To me, Fashion is basically an extension of a person. It’s the art of choosing pieces that are trending but that also fit the individual person, so that she can take on her everyday life being comfortable and confident.

What’s your go-to everyday look?

It really depends of my mood, but right now, I usually go for more casual looks and a mix of classics and streetwear.

What’s one item in your wardrobe you can’t live without?

Probably my suits. I think they’re the most practical items I own, because you don’t really have to think much about it and they’re very versatile - you can easily create 3 or 4 looks out of one suit.

What’s the worst trend you’ve ever tried out?

Hands-down: low-rise skinny jeans. I even wore that style of jeans in a distressed version to top it all off.

What’s one trend you wish would come back, sooner rather than later?

Luckily for me, all the trends I hoped would come back are very trending now: comfortable footwear, high-rise trousers, palazzo pants, and 90s / Noughties-inspired pieces.

What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen on the FW24 runway?

I’m really into the long, flow-y satin dresses and maxi skirts that seem to be everywhere right now. Also, I’m a big fan of Bermudas, especially when they’re worn with gilets, and the pyjama-like suits that have been around for a while.
